However, agricultural productivity in the area has not reached its optimal potential, presumably due to limited information on soil fertility conditions. This study aims to evaluate the soil fertility status based on soil chemical characteristics, including pH, base saturation (KB), cation exchange capacity (CEC), organic carbon (C-organic), total phosphorus (P-total), and total potassium (K-total). The research was conducted using survey methods and laboratory analysis of 12 soil samples taken from three locations: Wangga, Kalalap, and Kabubul. The assessment of fertility status refers to the criteria of PPT (1995). The results showed that the fertility status of soils in Banggawatu Village is categorized into three levels: high (4 samples), moderate (6 samples), and low (2 samples). Areas with high fertility levels showed high nutrient content along with favorable CEC and base saturation values. In contrast, areas with low fertility were characterized by low levels of organic carbon, CEC, and base saturation. The findings indicate that most of the agricultural land has good potential for further development, although specific improvements are needed in areas with low fertility.
